My name is Laurah Pastel Shames and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Miami, Florida. My private practice specializes in the treatment of anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder(OCD), and other related disorders including but not limited to phobias, panic disorder, social anxiety, and hoarding. I am passionate about providing people with the skills they need to make positive changes in their lives. My therapeutic approach incorporates the use of evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with the use of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I provide individual sessions and treatment specific family sessions. Prior to starting my own private practice, I worked at Harvard Affiliate McLean Hospital’s OCD Institute Residential program and Rogers Behavioral Health Partial Hospitalization programs. I am fluent in both Spanish and English.
