Many people come to therapy carrying the quiet work of managing how much of themselves they show to the world – learning when it feels safer to be visible, and when it feels necessary to hide. Living this way can be exhausting, especially when it’s shaped by identity, relationships, and past experiences. As a queer person and a licensed clinical social worker, my perspective is shaped by my own lived experience as well as from a commitment to creating a space where people feel safe and celebrated to show up as they are, without fear or judgment.
