As a somatic therapist, I specialize in helping people through the very physical symptoms of anxiety and trauma. Anxiety, overthinking, dissociation, reactivity, chronic worry, addiction, OCD, and hypervigilance are all adaptive responses for the body after having experienced trauma. For some, the trauma may be something identifiable that makes sense of why your body is staying ready for it to happen again. For others, the cause may feel unknown and that much more frustrating. Either way, the lasting effects suck. I provide queer-affirming care and take a harm reduction approach to addiction.
