Often, looking for a counselor and attending therapy require great strength and courage. Stigmatization around mental health disorders and lack of health insurance are some of the barriers many people must overcome before sitting in the counseling session. As a Counselor, I want to do everything possible to facilitate that process. I want to offer nothing different from what I would like to receive as a client: a safe, honest, and culturally-sensitive environment in which new paths to achieve a more fulfilling life can be discovered. I provide counseling to children, adolescents, adults, families and couples. I have ten years of experience working with adolescents, especially those who identify as LGBT or Q, and their families. My counseling approach is rooted on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy, and Systemic Therapy. I am a Qualified Supervisor for MH and MF Interns.
