I provide a safe space for all of my clients where they are heard and emotionally validated. I work to understand clients’ worlds from their perspective because no one else knows you better than yourself. I do this work to help people continue to fight and eventually see the light at the end of the dark tunnel. I have experience counseling teens, adults, and older adults. Before being employed with Lutheran Services in Iowa, I worked at another community mental health agency and saw a diverse group of individuals. I have assisted those struggling with grief, transitions in life, trauma, anxiety, mood diagnoses, and self-harm, to name a few. I prefer an empathetic, person-centered approach while using mindfulness-based practices and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I use expressive arts techniques as I value self-expression and utilizing artistic means to cope.
