Initiating a therapeutic relationship with a counselor can be a huge step that requires a lot of emotional and mental energy. But I’m here to meet you as soon as you are ready! I believe each person deserves empathy, connection, and unconditional positive regard. In the therapeutic relationship, my goal as a counselor is to hold a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to explore who you are, how you relate to important others in your life, and how you feel your experiences shape you. I believe the root of much emotional pain is an estrangement from or a deep rejection of unloved parts of ourselves. In an effort to make ourselves “better” or “stronger”, we can be harsh towards the parts of us that “just need to get it together”.
