About

For ages 15+. If you've been impacted by a traumatic event, if you want to learn more about yourself, or if you are facing terminal or life limiting illness, and are to move towards peace and healing, equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) at Equinox Therapy Services may be a good fit for you. The equinox is a change point, representing the balance between light and dark. Here, you'll find support and hope as you step over the threshold and find your own change point, embarking on your personal healing journey with the support of a licensed therapist and an equine companion by your side. Why horses? Connection and congruence. We blend EAP with mindfulness, somatic awareness, trauma reprocessing modalities (such as EMDR), and psychoeducation to create space for healing. For end-of-life concerns, horses view death differently than humans. Paired with specific interventions, equines can help facilitate a more peaceful transition.
