To me, the ideal client is someone who is willing to learn about himself: to come to realize his assets and to confront and transcend his limitations. The ideal client has the courage necessary to make the difficult decisions that it often takes to move forward in life. The ideal client sees a sense of purpose in what he goes through, and has the drive necessary to find a commensurate sense of meaning with respect to his circumstances. I have several years of experience using client-centered therapy, grief therapy, and Internal Family Systems to help clients learn how to better deal past hurts, current challenges, and future aspirations. I have a background in spiritual counseling, though I don't believe that therapy needs to be explicitly-spiritual in order to be effective.
