So much of what is offered in the field of psychotherapy is like putting new paint over a rusty patio chair. It looks great at first, but the rust is still eating away at the metal, weakening and destroying the chair underneath. In my practice I focus on working with my patients to find the sources of their unhappiness and then helping them to understand how those things from their past are affecting their current life. It is only through real understanding that permanent change can occur.
