What's most important to me is co-creating a space over time with clients where they feel safe to be vulnerable, and especially where they feel safe to push back. I seek to foster a therapeutic relationship where I can be a support person, and where I am also understood a just a regular person. What that means to me is that I acknowledge the necessary responsibility of my position, but that my word is not the end all be all of what is right or good because I'm the therapist; that I'm responsive when someone says "that didn't sit right with me" and that above all the autonomy of clients is my priority.
