Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” It can certainly feel that way when we are overwhelmed or stuck. When Socrates felt stuck, he sought guidance from the Oracle at Delphi, who told him: Know thyself. That’s the heart of therapy. There’s a small aim—just showing up, staying curious, doing the work. And there’s a big aim: self-knowledge and self-actualization. That means getting clear on what actually matters, and letting go of the old patterns, baggage, and noise.
