Been a Social Worker for 42 years. I treat "everyday people" with everyday problems and issues. Can and have included life transitions and changes, losses of important persons, relationship problems (not marriage counseling), alcohol and drug abuse, stress from something not quite known, stress from job or finances, parenting, being parented, emotional paralysis, suicidal feelings. My clients seek stability....to achieve or re-achieve equilibrium in their daily lives. To learn a new repertoire of coping in acquiring stability and to progress in achieving progress in short and long term goals. More autonomy. Less pain.
