The majority of my clients are people over 40, many of them gay men, who want to make sense of their life and its transitions: where they come from, where they are and where they are going. They might have specific issues: work, relationships, health challenges (sometimes HIV), aging parents, substance abuse and other addictive behaviors. Sometimes there is no specific issue, just a desire to sort out things. Their history might include trauma in childhood or later in life, and multiple losses, including loss to suicide. Depression and anxiety often show up as part of the work.
