**Phone/video sessions available** Dr. Robert Merrell is committed to providing empirically supported treatments to help improve quality of life by addressing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, sexual identity, relationship, academic, attentional, and career-indecision concerns. He has worked in diverse settings providing individual, couples, and family therapy. His group psychotherapy practice focused on substance abuse, LGBTQ support, thought disorders, interpersonal skills, and ADHD management. He was in a private psychiatry practice for seven years before opening the Greater Gainesville Counseling & Wellness Center, LLC. Dr. Merrell earned his undergraduate degree from Villanova University, where he was later awarded a full scholarship for an M.A. in Spanish literature. Influenced by a minor in philosophy and a passion for helping others optimize, he obtained a fellowship to study psychology at the University of Florida and earned M.S. and Ph.D. degrees (APA accredited).
