My ideal client comes to treatment with countless questions. One of these questions include not knowing why they need help. However, they have a desire to do the work warranted to leave treatment better than when they started. I offer people refuge from the noise that often hinders the opportunity and clarity warranted to even just identify problems. This phase assists in building rapport in the client-helper relationship. While we get to know each other, we are also exploring daily thoughts and behaviors.
