I typically work with adult and teen clients who have experienced trauma/complex trauma in relationship and are struggling with self-identity, negative self-talk, low self-esteem, and/or symptoms of PTSD. I take an eclectic approach that includes DBT, mindfulness, IFS, ACT, and more, but with intention and always in service of personal healing and developing secure self-attachment. Making the decision to seek therapy or find a new therapist takes resolve. It's a process often compared to dating, and I get it. You have to find the person who shares your values, meets your needs, has time for you, and then you have to vibe. Could you develop trust in this person? Do you want to commit to spending your valuable time with them? It's a lot.
