When we have suffered a traumatic experience, we feel broken and believe our safe, comfortable world has been shattered forever. The event does alter our world, but we are not broken…we are survivors. As survivors, we carry a kernel of hope inside us that, when properly nurtured, can lead us to find new strength within ourselves to transform tragedy into positive, personal growth. Although our perception of the world has changed around us, we can cultivate the skills we need to meet the challenges of this new world.
