I chose this work because I’m deeply interested in people’s inner worlds and the meaning behind their coping. Many behaviors that bring people to therapy — including addiction, self-harm, and trauma-related sexual difficulties — once served an important purpose. They were ways of surviving experiences that felt overwhelming, unsafe, or impossible to face alone. I’m drawn to work that meets these patterns with curiosity and compassion, reduces shame, and creates space for healing without judgment.
