About
You look like the perfect high achieving couple from the outside, but behind closed doors you are struggling with communication, conflict, and connection. You are both suffering–either out loud through conflict or silently through shutting down. You worry about when the next breakdown in communication will be, how big the next argument will be, or how long you will get (or give) the silent treatment. You're keeping up with your work duties and paying attention to your children’s needs. But you’re lonely together. You don’t want to walk away from the relationship, but it’s feeling almost too painful to keep the status quo. You've listened to podcasts, read some books, maybe gone to couples therapy before, maybe more than once. Sometimes you can have a conversation with each other about one of you needing more (or less) of this or that, without a blow up. Other times any little thing (dishes in the sink, perhaps?) can cause a fight or a shut down. Sometimes it feels too hard.
