I believe we are all doing the best we can with what we have. Sometimes what we have is deep pain, buried (or very alive) trauma, and a sense that we are failing. What gets forgotten is all the strength that has gotten us as far as we are! In my work with clients, we work to discover what is driving the choices we make and intentionally discover healing and strength. We empower through choice, acceptance, and self-compassion. I believe when we transform what we have, we move to something better. My primary experience is working with trauma, survivors of domestic violence, assault, and childhood abuse. I offer a compassionate approach to therapy through an integration of behavioral therapies (CBT) and trauma based therapies (EMDR). I believe the two approaches work in concert with one another, one treating immediate symptoms and one targeting the underlying causes of the symptoms. I strive to challenge clients and align with their goals for therapy.
