About
I provide Cognitive Behavior Therapy including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for the treatment of OCD & anxiety. This approach helps you identify triggers (like negative intrusive thoughts or stressful situations) which create discomfort. This anxiety leads to behaviors such as avoidance or compulsions. CBT/ACT helps you break this ruminative cycle. I can also help you learn healthier coping strategies to be more effective interpersonally, more efficient with your time, appropriately regulate mood swings, tolerate painful emotions and decrease self-sabotaging behaviors. Dr. Roatta's clinical training was done at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, where she also held a voluntary faculty position until 2003 studying PTSD. She has co-authored several publications in the field of behavioral medicine, and has co-presented at eleven national conferences.
