About
I work with individuals and couples whose lives have been interrupted by depression, anxiety, and trauma. Psychotherapy, like pastoral care and psychoanlysis, is "soul work" - self expression in the presence of a trusted friend and guide. In the safe space of the therapeutic relationship, thoughts and feelings, dreams and fantasies, desires and fears are spoken without judgment. Authentic verbal and emotional expression is transformative. As dysfunctional patterns of thought and behavior become clear, as shattered parts of the self are recognized and linked, health and a new wholeness can be achieved. View 4 Photos I practice psychodynamic psychotherapy, a modernization of classical psychoanalysis. I am an Episcopal priest with 53 years in ministry, a retired Army Chaplain (LTC), and a graduate of Blanton-Peale Institute, New York City. Today, in North Carolina, I serve as a licensed fee-based Pastoral Counselor at Presby Psych, a clinical practice in Charlotte.
