I work with children and teens who feel overwhelmed by emotions they can’t always name or explain. They may not recognize exactly what is going on throughout their body, but often express themselves through big emotions or sudden shifts in behavior. Young people often don't have the words to fully articulate the emotions they are feeling and are often misunderstood and unsupported in their environments. Their goals are to be seen, heard, understood, and in control of their own inner world. They want to have a better understanding of the feelings they are having as well as how to regulate.
