I work with LGBTQ+ and polyamorous folks. I recognize that many of us have experienced relationship challenges, trauma, and discrimination, and that our identities play an important role in how we heal and grow. Finding a sense of who you are is never easy, but receiving invalidating messaging from the world and holding past or present wounds makes that process even more difficult. The stories we tell about ourselves, inside and outside the context of personal identities, have power over how we understand our emotions, relationships, and experiences.
