My sessions are geared toward helping patients change in ways which will enhance their lives. By understanding the obstacles to change helps to build conscientious strategies which we together can employ. I am a stronge proponent of necessary out of office experiences "homework" which requires my patients to be aware of their emotional reactions which block new behaviors. In other words, greater awareness must take place outside of our sessions as well as within. I believe in handing patients the reigns to their own lives as I believe therapy must be about empowerment throughout all stages of adult life.
