I began my career as a registered nurse. After working in several areas of medical care, I settled into thirteen years as a psychiatric nurse attending to the care of children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. During this time, I returned to graduate school to complete my master of social work degree. Since finishing, I have practiced as a therapist, in a community clinic, and in a private clinic. Two years ago, I opened my own independent practice and continue with that today. My approach to counseling adults is based in cognitive-behavioral theory, better known as "talk therapy.
