For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to people and their stories, and, fundamentally, that’s what I believe is at the heart of successful counseling. It’s about connection and collaboration. It’s the process of building relationships, based in trust and mutual respect, and learning the story of how an individual got to the place they’re at. It’s about working together to better understand that story and how it impacts that person in the present as well as their choices in the future.
